What You'll Do:
  • Plan and execute contracting and procurement activities in IVXP in accordance with Business requirements, making the best use of the actual and potential markets, and the application of standard processes, systems and controls.
  • Develop and implement robust contracting and procurement strategies and tactics to secure third party services and materials in compliance with schedule, quality requirements and on best commercial terms and that accounts for market capacity and capability risks and opportunities.
  • Manage the commercial delivery of all major contracts awarded, by developing comprehensive post award contract management plans, ensuring all variation requests are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Provide commercial leadership and guidance on cross-functional team in support of business goal in the areas of Projects, Operations, Maintenance and Engineering.
  • Emphasis is placed on such areas as supply source strategic development, financial analysis, managing acquisition process (bidding/negotiations), contractual terms and conditions, supplier relationship management, and ethical considerations.
  • Advise and support on the fundamental principles, processes and procedures to be adopted in developing and implementing contracting strategies.
  • Ensure the development and consistent application of prequalification processes, procedures, tendering, bid clarification, evaluation and recommendation for contract award processes and procedures.
  • Support in the negotiation with contractors, including contractual terms and conditions, to achieve business objectives.
  • Apply category management process and supply chain management requirements into the contracting strategies.
  • Conduct reviews and audits of contracting strategies, plans, and contract management processes and procedures.
  • Provide support in the resolution of commercial and contractual issues with contractors including terms and conditions of contracts in collaboration with legal, finance and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the collection, analysis, validation, maintenance and capture of information and market intelligence.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Legal Department to ensure the inclusion of the necessary contract management aspects in the preparation of Terms and Conditions of Contract and related contractual documents.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Finance Departments to ensure that contract strategies and documentation are in compliance with financial governance requirements.
  • Maintaining good relationships with customers, vendors, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure commitment and support.
  • Recognize the different cultural and diverse characteristics that influence the contracting environment.
  • Implement contracting strategies and tactics.
  • Develop and share best practices, work processes, systems and tools, based on experience gained in interaction with the industry.
What You'll Need:
  • Understanding of strategic, technical, legal, finance, taxation and commercial issues, able to cope with complexity and uncertainty.
  • Application of contracting and procurement processes and tools.
  • Project contract management.
  • Development of category contracting strategies.
  • Analysis and negotiating skills.
  • Forms of Contracts, Contractual Terms and Conditions and their application.
  • Commercial acumen.
  • Cultivating effective working relationships both with internal stakeholders and external supplier
  • Effective communications at all levels of management both internally and externally.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contracting and procurement practices and in a chemical plant or manufacturing context.
  • Creative thinker capable of developing innovative solutions and a motivated self-starter with a track record of delivery.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities
  • Strong computer skills (excel, word, access) are necessary

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent combined with 7 + years of contracting and procurement or related work experience.
