We are seeking a long-term candidate to join the HSCI-BCH flow core lab team in the Hematology/Oncology Division at Boston Children’s Hospital. The primary duty of the FACS Research assistant is to provide high quality flow cytometry service and support to BCH investigators and the Boston research community. 

This research assistant will be responsible for:
  • Performing cell sorting on our BD FACSARIA FUSION
  • Performing maintenance and troubleshooting our high-speed cell sorters and benchtop analyzers
  • Additional administrative and operational duties may be assigned as needed

  • Proficiency with PC and MAC platforms and commonly used software such as Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor’s Degree in biological or physical sciences or a related discipline
  • 0-1 year flow cytometry experience in clinical, industry or academia
  • Cell sorting experience is preferred but not required (training will be provided to the qualified candidate)
  • The candidate should be able to work with minimal supervision, be flexible and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to work on evenings and weekends with a diverse group of people in a research-oriented environment
