Requisition Number: 2021-127 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Int Med Pulmonary 50000592 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: PULMONARY , CRITICAL CARE LUNG TRANSPLANT SPECIALIST The University of Nebraska Medical Center, ( UNMC ), Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine in Omaha, NE is recruiting dynamic academic physicians for a lung transplant specialist faculty position. The Division consists of 25 faculty members and has fully accredited pulmonary/critical care medicine and sleep medicine fellowships. The Division’s research labs are focused on basic science research in airway inflammation injury and repair. The Division also has active clinical studies involving trials for pulmonary hypertension and cystic fibrosis. Our clinical partner, Nebraska Medicine, is home to one of the most reputable and well-known organ transplant programs in the country. In the decades since the first transplant in 1970, its nationally and internationally renowned specialists have performed thousands of heart, liver, kidney, pancreas and intestinal transplants. Nebraska Medicine is one of a few institutions nationwide to offer all solid organ transplants under one roof. Our Lung Transplant Program offers single lung, double lung and heart-lung transplants. The successful candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board certified/eligible in pulmonary and critical care medicine, have completed a lung transplant pulmonary fellowship or be UNOS qualified based on additional training. Demonstrated interest in teaching is required.
