Job Summary

In this role, you will develop robust and flexible mixed reality (MR) applications to provide support to clinicians and surgeons performing orthopedic assessments and surgeries. We are looking for experienced, creative MR developers to work at the highest level of virtual and augmented reality. You will be responsible for implementing high value and complex commercial applications, translating design ideas, concepts, and requirements into a functional and engaging mixed reality solutions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define, document, develop and maintain Mixed Reality surgery solutions in a multidisciplinary team, using the Agile process;
  • Provide oversight and direction to software development suppliers providing mixed reality software solutions.
  • Engage with Microsoft Product and Services teams to ensure resolution of technical issues and product concerns;
  • Take ownership of entire features and components of the application lifecycle and participate in the product design and code elements;
  • Develop models and algorithms to provide clinical data;
  • Collaborate with other members of the team to deliver large and complex features on time and to a high standard;
  • Mentor other developers in the team and help maintain code, product, and process quality;
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of the development processes and tools used by the development team;
  • Build verification and validation tools for integrated and unit systems;
  • Mentor other developers in the team and help maintain code, product, and process quality;
  • Participate in the investigation and resolution of incidents reported by users in an operating context.

Expected Areas of Competence

  • You have gained experience in a highly regulated industry (pharmaceutical, aeronautics, medical);
  • You have knowledge of anatomy or medicine;
  • You have experience with MRTK-Unity / Mixed Reality development;
  • You have experience with Agile/Scrum development teams working with Confluence & Jira.

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, software or electrical engineering, computer science or engineering with a solid background in computer science;
  • 3-5 years experience with Unity 3D Content & Application Development;
  • Strong 3D math and statistics skills;
  • Strong C# object-oriented programming and scripting language skills;
  • Experience working with 3D assets (meshes, animations, materials etc);
  • Experience profiling and optimizing games/applications for render performance (GPU and CPU);
  • Experience with source control systems such as Git in a multi developer team environment;
  • You are a creative person with a great ability to work as a team and an excellent analytical mind;
  • You have excellent communication skills in English and written communications, (fluency in French is a plus).
