Consumer Lending Technology
The Consumer Lending Technology (CLT) group executes the Wells Fargo Technology strategy and offers a strategic technology perspective to the lines of business (LOBs) we support. These LOBs include Auto; Card, Retail & Merchant Services; Home Lending; and Personal Loans within Consumer Lending. Our teams provide technology solutions to the LOBs and manage the application portfolios through the enablers of skills, stability, security, scalability, speed, and satisfaction.

This position will support the Home Lending Technology applications within the Wells Fargo Consumer Lending Technology Group.  We are looking for a Senior Solution Engineer and change agent who leads by example with engineering mindset and Automation First approach.

Team Responsibility
The Solutions Engineering team drives the delivery of Applications, and Microservices, Private and Public cloud, SQL and NO-SQL Database infrastructure, Event Streaming infrastructure, and AIML infrastructure to facilitate the running of Home Lending applications. The team is actively involved in improving efficiencies with automation and software solutions through collaborative efforts with other groups within Wells Fargo. We are often involved in leading-edge use cases of the technology and business transformation of the product and work towards automated solutions for both infrastructure and the application.

Role Responsibility
Senior Solution Engineer responsibilities includes but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop ideas and solutions to stay ahead of our competitors by putting our customers at the center.
  • Work as solution and design lead for complex platform by following Cloud, Microservices, Domain Driven Design and API strategies.
  • Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with key business and technology leaders to understand their strategy and vision.
  • Work with business stakeholders to support strategic business initiatives by bringing value based and practical technology innovations and solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal business and technical partner teams to improve effectiveness of delivery and reduce/eliminate wasteful activities (maintain service and operating level agreements)
  • Taking the lead on new projects and initiatives, driving them to completion within required deadlines
  • Collaborate with Product and other Solutions Engineering Teams to help design automation capabilities for new cloud services offerings.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience
  • 7+ years of JavaEE experience
  • 7+ years of SOA (Services Oriented Architecture) experience

Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
  • Experience delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Other Desired Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering (or a related Information Technology degree)
  • Experience working with Microservices architecture and event streaming architecture at scale
  • Experience with applying Domain Driven Design in transforming enterprise level monolith applications
  • Provide architectural leadership related to domain driven design and event streaming models, utilizing technologies such as Kafka, MongoDB, AIML and PCF Cloud Foundry
  • Experience with Feature Engineering and  developing Model explorations
  • Experience working in an Agile product environment with scrum ceremonies (Product Discovery, Daily Standup, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews)
  • Experience developing, enhancing and implementing AI solutions
  • Experience with Spark or Hadoop
  • Data Mining exposure to organize structured and unstructured data, build data models and interpret complex data sets.
  • Proven, in-depth understanding of ML algorithms and modeling including supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning models, transfer learning, optimization and probabilistic graphical models
  • Self-starter who can identify what is needed and take action with minimal oversight
