Overview:

This position will be responsible for creating and driving quality standards and manufacturing quality processes for the production of racking systems in our internal and external facilities.

Supplier Quality Management involves working with our suppliers to report on, investigate and correct quality issues and establish a culture of continuous improvement.  Supplier Quality Management also involves conducting audits of suppliers quality systems and approving new suppliers along with verifying ongoing supplier compliance.  The Sr. Manufacturing Quality Analyst will coordinate the work of third party test labs and factory audit partners.

Organizational Relationships: Receives supervision and guidance from the Senior Manager Operations 

Coordinates with SNR Operations team, procurement managers and across departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Create strategies, approach, and deployment for supplier quality programs and initiatives.  Including risk identification and mitigation efforts  
  • Improve Quality Management Processes with appropriate reviews/controls to become sustainable across the organization
  • Develop and implement an effective Supplier Rating and Evaluation system using objective data collected from audits and internal analysis 
  • Manage and oversee source inspection activities along with supervise quality documents
  • Report on and lead actions to improve Quality Metrics 
  • Participate and provide quality input for Quarterly Business Review meetings with suppliers 
  • Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance through utilization of tools such as Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing concepts 
  • Support Qualification of new suppliers, manage the ongoing internal and external quality control processes, follow-up on non-conformance and root analysis, work with suppliers to get data and analyze data to find opportunities; recommend changes where necessary 
  • Create and maintain supplier scorecards, identify improvement opportunities in working with the procurement managers and other departments
  • Recommend changes in order to improve and support business activities 
  • Develop business insights based on analysis of results, and communicate key findings to various members of internal and supplier management to facilitate data-driven decision-making

Qualifications:

  

Education and/or Experience           

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Quality Management
  • Green Belt certification and experience with Lean tools and processes a plus 

 

Required Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to maintain a flexible and results oriented approach to problem-solving while ensuring compliance with quality standards 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.  Ability to identify and eliminate low return tasks
  • Proven ability to manage difficult projects from start to finish 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently
  • Self-starter who can work effectively on an individual and team basis
  • Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle Business Intelligence (BI) and Salesforce skills 
  • Experience in managing third party test labs and external audit companies
  • Manufacturing knowledge – preferably for solar racking systems 
  • Industry knowledge of the PV – Solar Industry (preferred)
  • Ability to write queries in R (preferred)
