• Under supervision of Pest Management Supervisor Pest Control Technician assures that safety practices are followed. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to, residential, commercial, industrial pest management, termite work both subterranean and dry wood termites, wildlife control, animal control, lawn and ornamental, herbicides, right of way management here at NSGB. Ensures that all equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner. All applicable laws regarding local regulations, pesticide use, use of ppe, protected species are followed. Responds to emergency calls during regular hours or after-duty on call hours.


  • Responsible to the Pest Management Supervisor in the performance of their duties.
  • Assures safety practices are followed.
  • Major areas of responsibilities include, but are not limited to residential, commercial, industrial/structural pest management, termite both subterranean and dry wood termites, wildlife control, animal control, lawn/ornamental, herbicides, and right of way pest management here at NSGB.
  • Must be knowledgeable of local laws governing the application of controlled and non-controlled pesticides/herbicides, use of ppe, and protected species.
  • Coordinates work/inspections with facility managers and occupants.
  • Researches materials and prepares necessary documents and reports.
  • Responds to emergency service calls during regular hours and after duty on-call hours.


  • Minimum Qualifications
    • High School Graduate or equivalent.
    • Must pass a background check.
    • Drivers License is required with one year before renewal.
    • Capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Pest Control field.
  • Program Specific Requirements
    • Must have and be able to maintain certifications in DOD Certificate of Competency categories, Ornamental and Turf, Aquatic, Right of Way, Industrial, Institutional, Structural, Health Related, Public Health – or state certification that is equivalent to the DOD Certificate of Competency.
    • You must have minimum of General Pest Control, Rodent Control, Lawn and Ornamental, Termite and other wood destroying organisms. Plus, a Public Health Certification is a must.
    • Hazwhoper 40 with yearly documentation a plus.
    • Must be able to work, day and night hours when needed.
    • Must be able to work alone.
    • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
    • Must be able to work in a tropical climate with temperatures in the high 90’s and humidity near 100% year-round.
    • Must be able to work in a mountainous, hilly, scrub filled terrain.
    • Must be able to work wearing proper PPE prescribed in Label an SDS,s.

    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • .Able to use computer and automated systems to perform assigned duties.
    • Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point a plus.
    • Must be able to work with FN,s (foreign nationals) who have different cultures and in some cases limited English.
