Wells Fargo Enterprise Data Lake team is key components of Enterprise Data Environment that consolidates and distributes data from various LOBs and IT systems. It is a part of Wells Fargo business strategic data program across all LOBs.  The data lake will build, configure and manage the big data platform for data ingestion and analysis, as well as manage data entitlement processes.

The Data Analytic Environments group within the Data Solutions & Services organization is seeking the expertise of an experienced Microsoft SQL Server Database Engineer to design, engineer, build, and analyze data services on Microsoft SQL Server technologies for supporting analytics including sandboxes, ad hoc discovery environments, and production environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for working on medium-to-high database and data services projects, implementing data solutions compliant with enterprise architecture, and providing subject matter expertise on Microsoft technologies.  You will conduct moderate to complex database technology and system configurations, component architecture for multiple analytic and reporting database components and processes.  You will act as a liason for data services in the support and implementation of Microsoft technologies with business partners, database analysts, and technical management across the Wells Fargo enterprise.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide analysis and design support for data related projects and enhancements across all SDLC environments using an Agile methodology (SCRUM or Kanan)
  • Partner closely with architecture in the implementation, development, and support across all environments to address performance and scalability needs based on business and technical requirements.
  • Responsible for support of data architecture and policy principles and the design for improvement of the strategic use of enterprise data.
  • Recommend and monitoring optimization processes for data services in compliance with enterprise policy.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on implementation steps, technical procedures, knowledge base materials in collaboration with other database analysts, architecture, and business partners.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of database (DB) technologies experience
  • 3+ years of Logical + Physical Data Modeling experience
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting software development life cycle for large-scale distributed technology projects and migrations
  • 2+ years of experience working with large data sets, transactional platforms, or a combination of both
  • 3+ years of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) experience
  • 5+ years of MS SQL server experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools
  • Strong technical and task/timeline-oriented skills necessary to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Knowledgeable in the programming or scripting language
  • Experience implementing new technologies
  • Big Data experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of database provisioning baselines and standards
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical infrastructure and relational databases
  • 1+ year of JIRA experience
  • Experience using the team collaboration software Confluence
  • Experience with Agile Scrum (Daily Standup, Sprint Planning and Sprint Retrospective meetings) and Kanban
