Overview:

The Director of Multifamily Field Operations is a leadership position responsible for the construction of large scale solar projects primarily on multifamily housing properties. The Director is responsible for in-house and contractor onsite construction operations as well as estimating and managing costs. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure our construction is completed safely, efficiently, and with high quality. 
  • Provide a professional customer experience for customers while onsite. 
  • Provide cost estimates and ensure projects are completed within the budgeted estimates. 
  • Work with support teams across Sunrun to support needs of managers and employees within the field organization. 
  • Organizing, motivating, and leading field construction employees to deliver against key performance indicators and project budgets.
  • Participate in the Multifamily Operations leadership team to create a world class multifamily operations program and experience for our customers. 
  • This position requires risk analysis, critical thinking and the ability to provide solutions to complex and highly technical problems. 
  • Work closely with Leadership to provide accurate installation forecasts, set performance targets, deliver performance reporting, and create action plans as needed.

Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a Team Player that is demonstrated by high levels of engagement and dedication from previous colleagues/employees.  
  • 7-10 + years business/construction experience preferably in Multifamily or Commercial solar
  • Track record with proven leadership abilities (communication, relationship building, training & development, employee relations, performance management, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret financial and analytical data and to take appropriate action as result
  • Operationally focused; detailed oriented but able to grasp the big picture.
  • Positive attitude; not easily flustered, motivated team player, looking to succeed.
  • Proficient and experienced with commercial project scheduling methods such as Gantt charts and timeline dependencies 
  • Proficient with google suite including spreadsheets, word docs, and basic presentations as needed. 
  • Able and willing to dive deep, get involved and do the things that need to get done.

 

  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
  • Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time
  • Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
  • Ability to set up, secure and climb a 20 foot ladder onto rooftops of various angles and surfaces
  • Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions
  • Have adequate visual and hearing acuity to follow instructions; operate machinery and equipment; and determine accuracy of the work assigned
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time on surfaces of various heights and angles
  • Travel commercially as directed or required (by car and plane)
  • Ability to work safely on construction jobsites, and warehouses
  • Ability to drive with a clean driving record
  • Ability to work on rooftops with various angles and surfaces
  • Use of standard office equipment, phone, computer, printer
  • Able to listen and communicate verbally  
  • Able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Able to stand for up to 8 hours
