Field Engineer II

Position Description:
Honeywell Forge Technical Support Specialist primary responsibility is to provide customers within service support of the company Satcom and Cabin Connectivity Systems installed on air transport and regional aircraft.  The Specialist will ensure customer satisfaction by providing support of the products, systems, and services.  The Specialist will run tests on the systems,, update and validate new databases, conduct troubleshooting, and make configuration changes required to deliver the operational system to the customer.

Responsibilities include:
Single point of contact for Satcom router connectivity issues within assigned region.
Technical hands on experience with IP/Networking and Satcom troubleshooting
Analyze technical issues and determine correction action
Identify correct software, hardware, and databases for Aircraft installation
Provide technical training to customers on the use of equipment, services, and tools
Provide support to customers on the systems in the field
Develop strong working relationships with external/internal customers
Perform complex technical assignments and make independent decisions in areas of responsibility based on in depth company system company system and equipment manufacturer knowledge
Working remotely and having to multitask customer priorities
Conduct preliminary diagnostics for hardware and software issues, initiate vendor service calls, track status of open calls, resolve issues when necessary, and escalate problems to engineer when appropriate
Document system procedures to create standard work for customer support team
Foster customer satisfaction by maintaining regular contact and timely customer response
Work with Engineers and 3rd party vendors to troubleshooting and drive solutions

You Must Have:
Expertise in verbal and written communication skills (English)?
AA Degree in Aviation Field or Technical Support
5 years’ experience in aviation/operations, or technical environment
Valid Passport and driver’s license


  • Bachelors degree in Engineering or Computer Science

Additional Qualifications:
Experience in communications and SATCOM systems, preferred
Demonstrable expertise in IP Networking and Troubleshooting, preferred
Customer support experience and abilities, an asset
Provide timely, accurate and periodic status updates to customer issues
Exceptional customer relations and communications skills
Function as liaison between Customer Support Teams and Engineering teams to provide status updates and status briefings appropriate to each product
Use SFDC ticketing system to document and track work requests, incidents, and resolution.
