Aggregate Industries operates seven regional construction materials businesses in the United States. The core business of producing crushed stone and sand & gravel is enhanced by downstream operations that produce ready mixed concrete, asphalt, and concrete products. In addition, recycling, liquid asphalt, soil remediation and retailing businesses are also in operation, creating true, vertically integrated divisions.


Our regional businesses participate in all sectors of the construction industry, supplying aggregates-based materials and contracting services to a wide range of projects including large, publicly financed infrastructure projects, commercial, and residential developments.


You will be the first point of contact for our customers while placing ready mix orders. Looking for a dynamic personality to join an energetic team responsible for: helping our customers place orders accurately, ensuring on-time delivery, and scheduling the trucks needed while coordinating with both internal and external customers. Assure compliance with company policies, DOT compliance and other regulatory requirements.  Develop relationships with current customer base and maintain frequent communication with plant and sales team.

  • Personally promote the Core value of Zero Accidents and Incidents to all operations;
  • Actively engage with customers, drivers, and plant supervisors to reinforce safe behaviors.


  • Coordinate directly with customers and plant supervisors;
  • Maintain productive and professional relationships with all stakeholders;
  • Dispatch trucks, track performance in real time; monitor demand, utilization, and capacity;
  • Identify optimization opportunities and continuous improvement efforts;
  • Ensure all orders are filled properly with the exact materials ordered by customer;
  • Assign starting and ending times to delivery employees;
  • Ensure maximum efficiency of drivers and material delivery;
  • Direct activities of drivers by two-way radio;
  • Using GPS tracking software, dispatch orders for materials in a timely and professional manner;
  • Establish service or delivery routes. 


Order-taking and Customer Service:

  • Customers’ first telephone point of contact for questions, order, pickup and delivery needs, status, complaints, and problem resolution;

  • Promote additional business from customers and provide leads to sales for potential new opportunities;

  • Enter complete/accurate customer order details into operational systems;

  • Proactively seek customer feedback to identify areas of improvement and trends in all operations; communicate ideas and solutions to team;

  • Communicate with Sales, Operations, and Quality Control teams;

  • Confer with customers to expedite or locate missing, misrouted, or delayed material;
  • Document and record all customer complaints in the system;
  • Investigate overdue vehicles;
  • Display positive problem solving skills; 
  • Perform administrative functions necessary for daily operations including, but not limited to: entering and processing non ticketed haul paperwork, report creation, filing, answering phones, copying and performing other duties as required.




Required Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Prefer Associates/Bachelors Degree.

Required Work Experience: 2-3 years of industry experience including experience in construction materials or logistics.
Licenses Required: Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive an automobile.
Required Computer and Software Skills: Must have refined computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the internet.

  • Must have strong work ethic and be willing to go the extra mile to help the team succeed; 
  • Ability to work both independently as well as in a group setting;
  • Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator;
  • Above average written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc);
  • Professional telephone etiquette;
  • Schedule flexibility to include early morning, late evenings and rotating Saturdays;
  • Physical Requirements: Candidate must be able to sit for long periods;
  • Additionally, you must be able to use common office tools and technology, such as cell/office telephone, calculator, and other electronic devices. Must be able to use computerized equipment and devices.
