The Information and Cyber Security (ICS) team is embarking on a multi-year initiative to improve Wells Fargo’s resiliency to the tactics, and techniques used by today’s most advanced adversaries. ICS is looking to bring together a multi-functional, agile team to partner across disciplines in order to create a more secure future for the company and its customers. The Info Security Engineer participates in the monitoring, identification, analysis, case management and response actions of a global, complex information infrastructure supporting the business needs of one of the world’s largest financial institutions. The candidate chosen for this posting plays a pivotal role in the coordination of monitoring security sensors, application, and network data for potential information security events and information security incidents. The Info Security Engineer will be able to rapidly assess security information, identify false positives, and conduct correlation analysis across numerous internal and external data sources, identify information security incidents, and support computer security incident response team (CSIRT) activities. Security Engineers may support network vulnerability scans, security audits, or risk assessments and provide feedback to ensure compliance with corporate security policies and adherence to industry best practices.

This role will involve frequent interaction with line of business partners and information security professionals within Wells Fargo Information and Cyber Security (ICS).  The Information Security Sr Engineer will be responsible for applying subject matter expertise and analytical processes to rapidly identify goals while following proper change management processes and procedures.  This position interacts with management, lines-of-business representatives, and senior technical engineers across internal and external organizations.

These roles participate in 24x7 global information security operations and will require shift watch standing at a Wells Fargo Information Security Operations Center site.  

Designs, documents, tests, maintains, and provides issue resolution recommendations for moderately complex security solutions related to networking, cryptography, cloud, authentication/directory services, email, Internet, applications, and/or endpoint security. Provides security consulting on medium projects for internal clients to ensure conformity with corporate information security policy, and standards. Leads computer security incident response activities for moderately complex events, conducts technical investigation of securityrelated incidents and conducts post-incident digital forensics to identify causes and recommend future mitigation strategies. Reviews and correlates security logs. Identifies security vulnerabilities/issues, performs risk assessments, and evaluates remediation alternatives. Possesses subject matter expertise in industry leading security solutions and best practices used to implement one or more components of information security such as availability, integrity, confidentiality, risk management, threat identification/modeling/monitoring, incident response, access management, and business continuity. May interface with senior management

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IDS or IPS experience
  • 5+ years of Security Information and Event Management (SIEM/SIM/SEM) experience
  • 7 + years cyber security analysis experience
  • 7 + years of experience with network security, endpoint security, or security threat vectors
  • 5+ years of cyber security incidents and events investigation experience
  • 7+ years of information security applications and systems experience
  • 6+ years of information technology applications and systems experience



Desired Qualifications

  • A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology
  • 3+ years of information security experience including experience in one or more of the following security disciplines: information security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, host/network forensics, cyber-crime investigation, penetration testing, business continuity, or cyber threat intelligence



Job Expectations

  • Ability to work on call as assigned
  • Flexibility to frequently be on call beyond normal working hours
