Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Database Administrator (SQL), L3-Sr. to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Act as a Senior Database Administrator working with team members to ensure all requirements are delivered in an efficient, highly productive manner
  • Provide technical support for the day-to-day SQL Server activities of the organization
  • Provide technical Support for chartered Projects, e.g. Security Remediation, Disaster Recovery
  • Coordinate changes to SQL Server and SQL Server Service Packs and cumulative updates
  • Implement database changes to improve performance and security
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard databases
  • Measure database performance and troubleshoot complex database issues
  • Configure and monitor interfaces with other systems
  • Configure and maintain system databases, user databases and server instances
  • Configure and maintain schema, tables, views, functions, triggers and indexes
  • Configure and manage system and database user IDs and group permissions
  • Configure and manage database backups and recoveries
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot bi-directional database replication
  • Efficient at T-SQL and Batch scripting
  • Review procedures in database management system manuals for making changes to database
  • Review project requests describing database user needs to estimate time and cost required to accomplish project

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5-7+ years of experience in SQL Server Administration experience
  • Experience installing, configuring, securing, and optimizing SQL Server Databases
  • Experience with High Availability and Data Replication technologies as related to SQL Servers
  • Experience writing and debugging scripts in PowerShell
  • Ability to work on individual tasks, as well as team-oriented tasks
  • Ability to prioritize competing priorities
  • Ability to work under a cross-matrix management structure
  • Ability to work on individual tasks, as well as team-oriented tasks
  • Required to be on-call and respond in a timely manner
  • A 4-year degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline with 5-7 or more year’s related professional experience. (Education can be substituted for 8 years of experience)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with Spotlight or some other type of SQL monitoring
  • Familiar with SQL database clustering in Windows environment
  • Windows Server 2008/2012 Administration
  • ITIL Certification

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active DOD Secret clearance and ability to obtain agency suitability clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to type

The projected compensation range for this position is $85,000-$141,000. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, ManTech invests in it’s employees beyond just compensation.
