Level of experience/Education:

·United States citizen and an active secret clearance

·Master of Science degree in engineering or computer science

·Three (3) years general combat system engineering experience in the engineering, design, development, or testing and evaluation of a Navy combat system. A combat system is a system capable of prosecuting the full spectrum of activities required to detect, track, identify, engage and kill a hostile target. General Combat Systems Engineering experience may be substituted with recent experience in AI and ML or other advanced information systems.

·Two (2) years’ experience with the application of Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning

·Experience with testing automation

Description:

The Senior Scientist provides technical, engineering, and analytical services for Test and Evaluation (T&E) of Navy Combat Systems. The T&E effort supports the government’s responsibility to determine if the combat system is ready to be delivered to the ship and certified for use in the fleet.

The position duties include the application of automation to testing to improve efficiency and increase test coverage. The duties will also include the development of test methods for testing combat systems that incorporate Artificial Intelligence and/ or Machine Learning.

The position requires working within a multi-contractor/ government integrated test team and supporting the government test directors with additional backup data, research and analysis to support the test findings and recommendation on software certification.

The primary work location is Dahlgren, Virginia, but the position requires about 10% travel primarily to Wallops Island, Virginia or Moorestown, NJ to support test events and requires flexibility for short notice test site support for emergent testing that can occur on a daily basis due to adjustments to planned events.
