The Role

We are currently seeking a Process Development Engineer for the Membrane R&D group within the Entegris Hangzhou Division (Anow). This position will be based at our Xindeng, Hangzhou site. As part of the Membrane R&D organization, a successful candidate will participate in the development of novel membranes and porous media for the life science and flat panel display industry.
In this role you will
  • Individuals in this position will be responsible for developing novel membranes for LS filtration applications;
  • Participate in all phases of membrane development with a focus in developing membrane fabrication processes, and/or equipment to make or characterize membrane;
  • Be responsible for hands-on membrane formulation and processing, testing membrane properties, developing processes and equipment that involve heat, mass and momentum transfer. This also involves project and management responsibilities and managing technicians.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering (or Chemical Process Control and Automation) or MS in Chemical Engineering (or Chemical Process Control and Automation) with 2+ yrs of industrial experience in web handling machine or automation;
  • Must have a good understanding of chemical process and engineering principles with mechanical aptitude;
  • Experience in membrane formation and/or membrane separation technologies;
  • Experience in hollow fiber development and extrusion process is a plus;
  • Experience in developing hardware and automation programming is a plus;
  • Interested in machine build and process design
  • Can apply conceptual understanding of heat, mass and momentum transfer into diagnosing chemical process issues
  • Strong hands-on skills in product development and developing processes;
  • Knowledge in statistics and the application of it in a R&D or Manufacturing setting;
  • Must be able to work in a team setting working with team members from multiple functions and discipline;
  • Must be able to effectively collaborate and influence without the need for direct authority;
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work well in a fast-paced, project-driven, R&D environment;
  • Must be able to work collaboratively while think independently and creatively;
  • Must have a sense of urgency and unwavering resolve to meet project timelines;
  • Must have strong problem-solving aptitude, with a desire to conduct experiments and do "hands on" work;
  • Must be proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; Auto CAD or SolidWorks is a plus;
  • Normal amount of traveling is required.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills in English;
