Parsons is now hiring a highly driven, talented and successful Manager to lead our Transportation practice for the Tennessee region and help grow our business and team. We are looking for a strong leader to join our team; one who inspires loyalty and commitment and understands how to design and deliver leading edge highway and bridge projects. This position will report to the VP of the East Central Area and requires a solid track record of leading engineers/designers and managing transportation projects (traditional and design-build) and familiarity with Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) design procedures and standards. Based in either Memphis or Nashville, this position will play a key role in pursuing and executing projects, talent management, business development and directing and managing large/complex projects.
The successful candidate will be an effective “seller/doer” who balances business development and project management responsibilities and office management for the team. The position will be responsible for the management and oversight of our current roadway, traffic, bridge and construction inspection staff. Travel to Client or project site locations may be needed periodically. We expect this leader to effectively plan, coordinate and mentor engineering resources to execute our projects for Tennessee and other nearby states. Our staff is well versed in both traditional and design-build projects for Tennessee and we have been supporting TDOT for the last 35 years.

Direct and coach civil and structural engineers, designers, planners executing projects for roadway and bridge design., and ensure designs are in accordance with approved practices and procedures.

Recruit, mentor, retain and develop top industry talent to enhance the current high-performance culture.
Monitor productivity and technical proficiency of assigned project teams as well as manage scope/schedule and budget of projects as well as office budget.
Assist with proposal development and responding to RFPs. Will work with Business Development Team to win and manage complex and major Transportation projects – traditional design as well as design-build.
15+ years of Civil and/or structural engineering experience in transportation, with proven ability to lead and deliver projects on time and within schedule.
BS in Civil or Structural Engineering, Business or related degree is required.
PE licensure in TN is required and in adjacent states preferred (or a plus).
Proven track record with project and staff management and inter-disciplinary coordination on large bridge and highway projects.
Experience on TDOT projects is required.
