PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Provide day-to-day management of Production Quality & EHS activities. To facilitate, coordinate and support quality, manufacturing engineering, EHS programs to Production and the Operation and to ensure a high focus and capability to drive CI initiatives driven by qualitative data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

+ Manages and leads Production quality initiatives in the analysis of quality data, root cause investigation to drive process improvement.

+ Participates in internal Quality Systems audits to assure that customer requirements are met in new or modified products and processes

+ Analyzes Operational quality metrics and performs reviews to evaluate results and recommend action plans to close gaps at an operational level

+ Assist to lead Production improvement teams in the development and evaluation of Standard Work and process control plans

+ Understanding of problem-solving methods -i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems

+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination. Assist to drive to implement

+ Coordinate root cause analysis to enable and maintain an effective corrective and preventative BIM (Business Issues Management) system

+ Investigate and report quality incidents through the BIM tool when required

+ Maintain site Production and Operation lead Quality BSC metrics

+ Co-ordination of site Quarantine, Red Tag, Reject note, Quality Alert and Concession processes

+ Production EHS Hazard Recognition and Evaluation – lead all Production key MESH initiatives including risk assessment, accident & near miss investigation and the maintenance and update of the company’s MESH system. Assist to cascade down all Eaton requirements such as: Life Saving Rules (LSR), Safety Stand Down, ESH Corp. Program requirements

+ EHS Leadership: to Operationally support a strong EHS & ZISC culture that engages employees throughout site in EHS teams and processes. To assist in the tactical delivery of site EHS activities to meet EHS objectives & targets

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:

+ Degree / HNC / CQE Engineering or Quality qualification (preferable)

+ Minimum of 3 years of Quality or EHS experience (at similar position)

+ Understanding of problem-solving methods-i.e. Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis, and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems, evaluate and complete improvement projects

+ Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements.

+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tool sets as they relate to process/product variability, and root cause and corrective action determination.

+ Strong organizational and influencing capabilities. Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams

+ 1st Class communication and presentation skills

+ Highly PC literate
