Position Summary

  • SUMMARY:

  • Researches, analyzes, designs, and tests component parts, processes, or systems to develop new and/or improve core products. Develops and recommends solutions to engineering requirements for complex or specialized projects or systems, to ensure that design objectives are met, including program scope, cost and schedule constraints. Applies engineering principles based on assigned engineering domain (e.g. mechanical; electrical; chemical, etc.). Participate in and support Design and Project Engineering activities for Aircraft airframe and engine high temperature pneumatic bleed valves and components.

  • Acquire knowledge of engineering team, division, and aerospace industry standards
  • Support assigned engineering projects, including new product development and design, project engineering, and post EIS (entry into service) product support
  • Use engineering fundamentals / principles (statics, dynamics, fluid flow, thermal analysis, etc.) to develop design solution(s) and solve problems.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers to develop and maintain a premiere customer business relationship.
  • Develop knowledge and expertise in technical design, operation, and performance of Parker Engine Team Valve Product Lines.
  • Willing and able to undertake domestic and international travel in support of business needs.

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident status required.
  • Degree in Engineering at an accredited university, in area of Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 4 to 6 years Engineering experience in Aerospace or related industry
  • Fundamental knowledge of engineering principles, concepts, and techniques.
  • Fundamental knowledge of and proficiency with basic computer programs (microsoft office work, excel, powerpoint)
  • Ability to work with general direction and instruction regarding the scope of assignments; determines the priority and order of assignments; and applies judgment in selecting procedures and techniques.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all contacts- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
  • Highly effective communication skills; with ability to create / maintain strong working relationship with team members, and internal / external customers.
  • Capability to develop design concepts and lead / mentor others in development of new and innovative products.
  • Strong project leadership skills, with proven “hands on” experience leading a team in completion of design concepts through to product completion (and introduction).
  • Well organized and a self-starter, with ability to proactively anticipate and manage the technical challenges associated with design, development, and certification of new products.
  • Strong “hands on” experience with standard manufacturing methods, including mills, lathes, welding, castings, etc.
  • Direct experience in high temperature aircraft / engine pneumatic valves; High Temperature ECS Systems Component Design and Fabrication; or related experience
