AutoNation Headquarters Position Summary: AutoNation is looking for Data Engineer to join our Marking Analytics Team! The Marketing Data Engineer will facilitate the descriptive and predictive analysis for the Marketing Department. The Data Engineer will report to the Director of Marketing Analytics. The Engineer will develop and maintain processes to move data from source systems into data marts, and ultimately data visualization / analytics platforms. Create data pipelines and processes to support Dashboarding and Business Performance Analytics within tools such as QlikView and QlikSense. Create new applications, develop enhancements, and fix bugs in existing applications to meet business requirements, application development standards and support requirements. Meet with stakeholders and gather business end user requirements and uses this data to define and develop technical specifications and processes for design, coding, and testing. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in supported applications. Job Responsibilities: Programming ETL / Data Pipelines and the Creation of Data Marts. Candidate will design, test and deploy, database changes, stored procedures, SSIS packages and other data migration processes. Design and develop database solutions to compile data for identification and analysis into interactive Dashboards within BI tools to help marketing team have a comprehensive view of all marketing lead sources, campaigns and performance. Define technical specifications for solutions related to design, coding and testing for use by themselves and by other team members. Provide database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems Organize data and implement analytic data marts and business intelligence views for performance monitoring, measurement, evaluation vs. forecasts, and financial measures. Recommend and design ongoing improvements to process to improve program performance measurement. Compile, validate, analyze, and publish relevant metrics to evaluate marketing effectiveness and discern which elements of our marketing strategies are most effective. Design, develop, and generate ad hoc reports and analysis by querying customer database using analytical too Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or related disciplines 4+ years of technical expertise in SQL Server environment (SQL Server, SSIS) Strong experience with building and optimizing complex SQL queries, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and/or Snowflake Strong experience in at lease one programming such as, Python, VBA, .Net, C#, or Javascript Technical/Specialized - PowerPoint, Excel, and Access Strong communication and presentation skills Excellent problem solving and Excel-based modeling skills Experience working with marketing and IT Must meet company’s requirements for employment PREFERRED Masters/MBA No automotive experience required; consumer / retail / technology experience preferred Experience with Tableau / Qlikview / Qliksense / matplotlib (Visualization Tools) Physical Requirements: Standard office environment The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
