Job Overview

The Sr. Sourcing Specialist develops category strategies and directs the commodity management for utility exposures and packaging resins. It also forecasts, executes plans, and tracks measurement objectives for commodity risk management across KDP non-coffee commodities portfolio. This position provides involvement across categories within the procurement function.

Specifically Managing the Corporation’s portfolio of utilities and related commodity exposures. Categories managed include electricity, natural gas, renewable energy credits, and other carbon offset expenses with an annual spend of >$30MM. This position will also analyse the petrochemical industry as it relates to packaging resins.

Accountabilities

Strategic Sourcing Management

+ Develop strategies to manage commodity price risk for electricity and natural gas

+ Develop sourcing strategies in conjunction with key business partners to achieve RE100 status as well as Corporate responsibilities

+ Initiate, direct, and conduct all activities relating to negotiating, evaluating, selecting, and implementing preferred supplier contracts

+ Conduct industry deep dive analysis to provide proactive insight to sourcing strategy

+ Act as a liaison between suppliers/partners and manufacturing operations to implement cost-reduction strategies

+ Maintain joint tracking models to ensure accurate costing, price forecast, and project returns

+ Maintain master contract management system for all spends within scope

Analytics

+ Develop and maintain databases and spreadsheets to track petrochemicals and resin prices including soliciting/managing data vendors or processes to pull real time data from various media sources

+ Conduct time-series studies on commodities prices, provide statistical correlation/regression, elasticity, and sensitivity analysis on datasets

+ Develop presentation material and communication chain to educate and communicate short and long-term risks and opportunities in commodities markets

+ Provide formal and ad hoc training on markets and economics to procurement and/or supply chain

Finance

+ Provide monthly commodity price forecasts to Supply Chain finance and annual baseline commodities price forecasts for budget/planning purposes and maintains models to verify or modify for subsequent plan adjustments

+ Coordinates with other Supply Chain teams to implement joint risk management and cost reduction initiatives

+ Work with finance and planning teams to provide market analysis, financial and cost models, risk reporting, and ad hoc analysis as needed

Requirements

Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or supply chain discipline from an accredited college or university

+ 3 years of experience in corporate procurement, supply chain, finance, operations, and/or process management experience; 3 years of experience in commodity management preferred

+ Ability to travel (domestic and international) to support projects – 10%

+ Experience with ERP or CTRM systems, Oracle or SAP, third-party data suppliers

+ Strong analytical and financial skills to draw conclusions and make recommendations from large data sets

+ Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and approaches to a wide variety of internal and external audiences

+ Proven work ethic as a self-starter; sense of urgency to drive results

+ Be an effective interviewer to understand business requirements from several different perspectives
