1. Develops models describing requirements for systems which serve as the standard for the evaluation of department systems. 2. Identifies and organizes the relevant system facts; evaluates the system for the existence of essential controls. 3. Makes recommendations to improve systems. Assists management in the creation and implementation of feasible solutions. 4. Plans, organizes, and conducts internal operational and financial audits. Conduct interviews of department personnel. 5. Examines departmental documentation; verifying the departmental processing procedures. 6. Develops and publicizes standards models for various types of systems. Document discrepancies and prepares reports detailing audit findings for department head. 7. Influences the development of policies and procedures for the University through the effective prevention of the audit results to administration. 8. Protects the University through an accurate analysis of information obtained during the audit process and by minimizing the University's exposure to risk. Preferred Education:   Experience conducting financial and operational audits and knowledge of the University's policies, procedures and financial systems; CPA, CIA, or CFE. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business administration and seven years of previous managerial and professional experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
