Data Management and Insights (DMI) is transforming the way that Wells Fargo uses and manages data. Our work enables Wells Fargo to empower and inform our employees, deliver exceptional experiences for our customers, and meet the elevated expectations of our regulators. The team is responsible for designing the future data environment, defining data governance and oversight, and partnering with technology to operate the data infrastructure for the company. This team also provides next generation analytic insights to drive business strategies and help meet our commitment to satisfy our customers' financial needs.

The Senior Data Management Policy Consultant will be a member of the Data Management Policy & Operations team in DMI, responsible for establishing the formal program to drive the establishment and implementation of data governance requirements associated with data used in user data repositories. The role will report to the Head of Data Management Policy & Operations and develop, socialize and implement the overarching program and plan to ensure user data repositories are appropriately governed across the enterprise.  The role will also partner with Wells Fargo Technology, Information Security and Information Management organizations outside DMI to coordinate, track and report on issue status and corrective action progress.

• Lead strategic initiatives across DMI to develop and operationalize the program and plan to drive the establishment and implementation of data governance requirements for data user repositories.
• Lead the policy and governance analysis to determine the appropriate approach and controls to drive improved governance for data used in user data repositories.
• Manage user data repository governance communication routines, forums and councils with key partners (e.g., Wells Fargo Technology, Information Security, Information Management, etc.)
• Manage cross-functional issues, risks and decisions to ensure the program designs a consistent company-wide approach for determining allowable usage and governance requirements for user data repositories
• Maintain close partnerships with risk partners (e.g., Control Executives, Group Issue Management) to drive alignment and provide timely status updates and responses to requests


Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: data management, data governance, data quality or data analysis

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • 5+ years of data governance experience

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of data integrity management practices and procedures
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to strategize and execute a variety of large-scale programs, services and initiatives that are significant in scope, complexity and risk, working collaboratively across multiple business groups.
  • Working knowledge of key financial data subject areas, including any combination of the following:  Deposits, Payments and Treasury Management; Commercial or Retail Lending; Traded / Capital Markets  Products; Advisory Products; Market, Credit, Counterparty, Fiduciary, Operational Risk; Financial Management or Reporting; Master Reference Data, Human Resources Data

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
