Digital Solutions Director

Anthem’s Commercial Product Group is looking for an innovative, high energy, strategic problem solver to play an integral role in our matrixed team as we power Anthem’s future and transform the model of U.S. health care. We will do this through a digital-first solution and focus on the entry point to care, meeting members at the moments that matter and in the ways that work best for them. We will pursue end-to-end opportunities that maximize our members’, providers’ experiences, improve health outcomes, and drive medical cost trend improvement. We will leverage exponential technologies and effectively assemble digital, data, and analytical assets and capabilities in this endeavor

 

LOCATION: This is currently a telecommuter position but will be transitioned to an in-office assignment post-COVID-19 with the potential for 15% travel. The selected candidate should be located near an Anthem office, with a strong preference for Chicago.

 

Responsible for supporting the growth and development of the digital experience and strategies across markets. Leverage expertise in healthcare and digital to support the organization's business partners in the identification and deployment of innovative solutions to derive value from business opportunities.  Responsible for working with business partners to evaluate digital concepts, opportunities, and vendors to assess their value and how they best fit into the existing ecosystem of solutions. 

 

Primary duties to include, but are not limited to: 

  • Responsible for developing strategies, programs, and solutions based on business priorities, consumer insights, and industry trends that support digital strategy. This includes multiple projects of varying sizes and duration including large projects from a global perspective that incorporates both the business and technical aspects of the project.
  • Responsible for researching and evaluating new digital market concepts/solutions and determining if and how they would best fit into the existing portfolio of services. 
  • Develop strategic roadmaps, competitive benchmark assessments, and identify or evaluate potential solutions that could support the market offer. 
  • Work with business partners and foster multidisciplinary collaboration to both create business cases and ensure the deployment of solutions that engage target populations and address market needs. 
  • Partner with leaders and associates in the broader enterprise digital solutions organization to align priorities and strategies. 
  • Responsible for gathering and assessing market requirements through competitive intelligence and emerging trends, stakeholder, and consumer feedback.
  • Creates an effective team environment, builds strong relationships, solves problems and issues in a matrix environment, and communicates effectively at all levels of the organization, providing leadership to program managers, project managers, and other team members in a Matrix structure.
  • Establishes program governance, oversight, and reporting structures. 
  • Develops effective presentations and materials for various audiences and purposes. 
  • Develops program budgets, ensures programs meet stated objectives, develops program success measures, and performs periodic assessments of program success.
  • Supports management in overall objectives.

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS degree in a related field, MBA or equivalent preferred; 10 years of experience in solution strategy, digital product management, and development of digital software products; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required (PowerPoint and Excel most important).

 

Preferred

  • 7 years of management consulting experience
  • Experience in the healthcare industry in a direct to consumer (DTC) capacity preferred.
