The Network and Endpoint Security Engineer will be a member of the Security Technology team within the Business Technology Risk Management & Security (BTRMS) organization, and report to the Associate Director Engineer for Endpoints. 

The position will maintain network and endpoint security products such as (but not limited to): Next Gen firewalls, IDS/IPS, NAC, DDI solutions, Security Policy Management, endpoint security solutions (AV, NGAV, EDR, desktop firewall, web content filtering, intrusion prevention), encryption solutions (full disk, file/folder), web security solutions (web gateway, web application firewall), data leakage protection (DLP), SEIM and enterprise log management systems.  

Primary Activities/ responsibilities include:

  • Direct the design, development, and deployment of network and endpoint security controls to protect our company's critical applications and information while ensuring compliance with Organon’s corporate security policies and regulatory/legal requirements
  • Continue to enhance and mature the network security and segmentation posture for the company
  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure leaders to ensure security technologies are properly configured and Integrated into the infrastructure.  Provide detailed direction and designs for ensuring security controls operating across the enterprise are properly deployed and producing data to support the risk management function.
  • Develop and maintain a sustainment plan for deployed network and endpoint security controls to ensure they are operated properly, provide intended risk reduction through effectiveness reviews, licensed properly, report events into the SOC.
  • Participate in troubleshooting issues raised for network and endpoint security tools and associated functions
  • Lead upgrades and other maintenance as required to keep the network and endpoint security tools up-to-date and operating as required for the security standards of the organization
  • Coordinate with vendors and partners to maintain and enhance security tools
  • Participate in projects to evolve and expand the security technology for the network and endpoints (including those in the cloud)
  • Update documentation such as requirements, technical designs, configurations, drawings, and SDLC specific documents as necessary
  • Oversee and lead contractor engineers who will provide a majority of the hands-on deployment activities.

Education/Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Security, or Information System or 5-8 years of computer and network security experience
  • Experience engineering, deploying and overseeing the strategy of various network and endpoint security solutions such as below.  This isn’t a full list, and the potential candidate should have some experience or familiarity of all represented capabilities.  The potential candidate must have strong experience with 5 or more of the following products areas (or similar products) across all capabilities:
    • Network Security - Cisco or Palo Alto NextGen Firewall administration, network segmentation
    • Application and Cloud Security - AWS Security Groups, AWS CloudFront/WAF/DDoS, CASB
    • Endpoint Security - Microsoft Defender, Defender ATP, SmartScreen and MS Firewall, McAfee endpoint security suite, Cylance/NGAV, EDR Solutions
    • Data Protection and Encryption - such as BitLocker, MS DLP, MS AIP.
    • Jump solutions such as BeyondTrust
    • Familiarity with OT and ICS Security solutions
    • Familiarity with Security Analytics solutions (e.g. Splunk) and best practices
    • Network and Endpoint Security solutions and management on Mobile devices
    • Experience working with data center computing environments (premise and cloud)
    • Experience with networking protocols and architecture of a global LAN/WAN, including familiarity with shop floor networking
    • Demonstrated experience with advanced security solution troubleshooting for complex problems escalated to engineering.
    • Adaptable, willing to learn, and ready to grow in a new and evolving environment
