Under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services, is responsible for the day to day operations of the hospital's rehabilitation services, including department organization, staffing, workload/productivity management, fiscal management, quality/outcomes and clinical performance of the department(s). Participates as an integral member of the hospital's rehabilitation services management team. Included are expectations for provision of high quality, cost-effective programs and services that are responsive to customer needs.

Participates in providing patient specific care standards as directed, and follows service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.

 

  • You will coordinate and directs the daily activities of the department(s).
  • You will maintain awareness of the inter-relationships among activities in the department(s), and plans work assignments and resource allocation to maximize productivity and maintain quality.
  • You will be responsible for meeting department objectives as agreed with Director.
  • You will apply professional and technical knowledge of operations to correct or address a situation taking into consideration the full range of available facts.
  • You will communicate effectively with team members and other management staff.
  • You will develop and monitor compliance with productivity standards and operating budgets, making appropriate changes to achieve compliance. Communicates issues regularly with Director and Administration.
  • You will understand the principles and dynamics of financial management and takes action that is consistent with both the short and long term financial health of the department and organization.
  • You will understand the financial nuances of the department(s) and generates strategic options, new approaches, and possibilities to improve cost effectiveness of the organization.
  • You will monitor compliance with budget expectations and continuously examines opportunities to enhance fiscal performance.
  • You will initiate appropriate responses to alleviate variances in productivity, expense, or revenue performance areas.

 

St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, which is part of St. David’s HealthCare, is a 425-bed multi-specialty, acute care facility dedicated to the highest level of women’s health services, including maternity and newborn care with Level I, II and III nurseries at the adjacent St. David’s Women’s Center of Texas. The facility also features a 24-hour emergency department, the Texas Institute for Robotic Surgery, the Bariatric Center, Heart and Vascular Center, neurology and neurosurgery, a kidney transplant program, inpatient and outpatient surgery and acute inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, among many others. St. David’s North Austin Medical Center is also home to St. David’s Children’s HospitalSt. David’s Surgical Hospital, which opened in October 2016, is a campus of St. David’s North Austin Medical Center.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: Bachelor’s Degree in PT, OT, SLP, or Bachelor’s Degree in health related science with Masters/Doctorate in applicable discipline.

Minimum of three years of experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting, preferably in a leadership position.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:

Required: Current Texas Licensure in applicable discipline of LPT, OTR, or SLP-CCC
