The Platform Quality Engineering team is looking for an engineering manager to lead and grow our organization. The Platform Quality Engineering team develops system validation tools and tests for low level SOC firmwares, silicon software features, bootloaders, and helps shape the quality of our Hardware/Software/Silicon interactions ; working on this core technology you will have the opportunity to have a major impact on the success of Apple's products.

Key Qualifications

  • 5 years' experience in team management
  • Solid understanding of operating systems fundamentals
  • Knowledge of C, C++ and Python
  • Knowledge of LLDB and other debug tools
  • Experience in automation, workflow and tooling changes
  • Prior development experience of system stress racks at scale
  • Influence without authority among cross-functional teams across Apple and getting others to align with your vision
  • Experience with data visualization is a plus

Description
Lead our Platform Quality Engineering team to: Triage critical software and hardware issues across the entire software stack Design and implement new stress tests to catch hard to find problems earlier in the hardware development cycle Own the overall system stability of in development hardware within the larger software organization Work with stability, software, hardware and QA teams to systematically improve the overall stability of future OS releases Design and develops driver features providing metrics and debuggability to streamline driver development. Set daily priorities for completion of tasks as well as long-term priorities for team development. Work closely with build and test team to ensure that what is released to customers meets our rigorous quality standards. Develop the current team and hire to scale as needed Guide, mentor, and develop team members to help find their maximum potential Track team performance to analyze and identify areas of improvement for training, tooling, and workflow Daily/weekly/monthly analysis of bug trends and action plan development using those trends

Education & Experience

Masters Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
