Staff Accountant - Accounts Payable Analyst 

Immediate need for sharp professional go getter to join my clients accounting team in Conshohocken, PA. 

 

This position handles the process of specified accounting functions, including maintaining all related files and analyzing accounts payable transactions. This position will also assume the responsibility for researching, analyzing, and utilizing accounting software and Oracle EBS to perform various accounting functions, including accounts payable and related general ledger entries and transactions.   

Responsibilities

Proficiently utilizes accounting systems, primarily AP Express and Oracle EBS systems, and related interfaces to record various accounts payable transactions and researches and resolves issues

Responds to and communicates with external vendors, customers and staff regarding all aspects of the accounts payable process

Verifies the accuracy of vendor invoices and confirms use of the correct general ledger account code

Prepares, facilitates and completes monthly close procedures for accounts payable, including processing of system and manual journal entries and entries that require accruals at month-end and/or year-end

Successfully performs accounts payable reconciliations of assigned subsystem to general ledger

Identifies and analyzes variances between original System records and journal entries

Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information

Maintains accurate financial records for assigned accounting areas

 Assists accounting management with completion of annual tax and governmental filings, as needed

Assists with other accounting duties and serves as a back-up to other accounting positions, as needed

 

Minimum Requirement

   Associates in Accounting/Business, or a related field AND 5+ years of related experience, OR

Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; AND 2 + years of related experience, OR

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

   Progressive accounting experience utilizing an ERP or comparable computer-based accounting system and accounts payable software.

   Understand accounting rules, principles, terminology, guidelines, particularly A/P accounting

         Must have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment with a bias for action, a great propensity to learn, the willingness to grow, and have a mindset for continuous improvement

         Must have excellent and professional verbal, written, and intrapersonal communication skills

         Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, most particularly Excel and Outlook
