Research Administrator 2- SOM: Internal Medicine, General Medicine- Sacramento Campus Department Description General Internal Medicine (GIM) is one of 10 divisions in the Department of Internal Medicine. GIM includes 45 faculty (clinicians, researchers and staff physicians), as well as ongoing faculty and staff physician recruitments. GIM's missions include teaching, community and clinical service, and research. GIM's research focuses on education, State- and Federally-funded contracts, Federally-funded clinical and other research (including NIH). THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The Research Administrator 2 supports GIM's research mission via pre- and post-award support, including proposal and budget preparation and submission, providing documents and budget revisions on request, serving as division liaison with the Dept, School and University research units and offices Required Qualifications At least two years of combined research administration experience Demonstrated experience in pre-award grant submission and post-award grant management, including related accounting Demonstrated knowledge in budget preparation and guidelines for Federal, State, and private granting agencies. Demonstrated ability to interpret, comprehend and comply guidelines, policies and procedures as it relates to the submission and management of contract and grant applications Demonstrated advanced level skills using MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to continually learn and grow, quickly and effectively learning new tools and apps, systems and processes, in a continually changing environment Demonstrated skills in organization, prioritization, task management, plus ability to meet deadlines despite other tasks and projects Ability to effectively and professionally communicate, written or orally, and establish and maintain good rapport with staff, faculty, coworkers and external contacts. Demonstrated attention to detail, with proofreading skills Demonstrated knowledge in budget preparation and guidelines for Federal, State, and private granting agencies Demonstrated ability to interpret, comprehend and comply with university, state and federal guidelines, policies and procedures as it relates to the submission and management of contract and grant applications Special Requirements Must be able to work occasional over-time in order to meet grant deadlines. This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
