Position Summary: The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering ( ISE ) at Rutgers University invites applications for a Postdoctoral research scientist position, who will work with Dr. Zhimin Xi at ISE to support a project of advancing sustainability through electrified infrastructure for energy-mobility nexus. The initial appointment starts from January till the end of June in 2021, with the possibility of reappointment to June 2022. The candidate's main job responsibilities include: Energy storage charging/discharging decisions for electric vehicles with integration of solar energy harvesting from road assets. System-level multiple objectives to maximize the usage of solar energy, maximize the availability of electrified road discharged from energy storage, and maximize the lifetime of the energy storage system with smart prognostics and health management. Decision making framework to solve the tradeoff between energy, mobility, and infrastructure cost. Writing research papers, advising graduate students, and assisting in writing research proposals. Minimum Education and Experience: A doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering or related topic is required.
