Northrop Grumman Space Systems is currently looking for a Principal Project Engineer to work in our Promontory, UT location.

Description & responsibilities:

Currently seeking a Project Engineer to be responsible for technical execution in the continued testing, analysis, and support of RSLP hardware at the Promontory Campus. Collaboration with subject experts to manage/facilitate project technical requirements; dissemination of not only data but information; facilitates risk reduction and opportunity realization to support successful program goals within complaint procedures and standards, coordinates with internal and external customers at a working group level. This role will report to the Manager, but be under an experienced lead engineer.

Coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders' relevant technical and program requirements. Support generation and evaluation of physical property and performance parameters of existing solid rocket motors and components. Propose advanced technical solutions to implement for complex testing and analysis challenges, follow project thru to realization of aging trends of a wide range of items.

Competencies for Success:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university.
  • Technical excellence, collaboration/ teamwork, and trustworthiness are required.
  • Ability to see the larger picture for the system as a whole.
  • Experience in ePIC, ETM, MRB, configuration management, technical writing (test plans and reports), and helpful.
  • Problem analysis boards
  • Demonstrated ability to timely function in a matrixed construct and to self-manage a dynamic demanding workload required.
  • Strong demonstrated written and oral communication skills are a must.
  • Detailed scope/schedule /budget planning skills are preferred


Qualifications:

Requirements/Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Mathematics discipline
  • 5 Years of experience with a BS; 3 Years with Masters; 0Years with PhD
  • Position can be filled at a higher level, 9 Years with BS; 7 Years with
    Masters; 4 Years with PhD
