HIA32: Cedar Rapids, IA 400 Collins Rd NE , Cedar Rapids, IA, 52498-0505 USAThe Avionics, test engineering architecture team is seeking to find a talented and motivated individual to__ fill a software Engineering position. The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international.____ The test engineering architecture team supports teams across all of the Collins Aerospace business units.
The primary responsibility for this position is to implement and update the software Architectural components being used within the Test Engineering organizations for manufacturing and return-to-service test solution development. The engineer who fills this position must have strong technical software/hardware development skills and problem solving skills.__
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop/update software drivers into the Hardware abstraction as required
Develop/update the Test Executive
Lead release efforts for the Test Executive and Hardware abstraction.
Work with other subject matter experts to implement the best possible architectural components.
Create/update test support document procedures.
Participate on the ___triage team___ to review over all ALM tickets submitted to determine the impact to TSSA and TestSet
Provide training, support and mentoring for the test executive and the hardware abstraction
Provide input into the Architecture Roadmap
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Experience developing hardware and software for test solutions
Software development experience.__ (NI TestStand, C# and NI Labwindows CVI a plus)
Experience updating engineering support document procedures.
Knowledge of industry test equipment
This position will be located in Cedar Rapids, but the candidate may be required to travel on occasion
Applicant must be capable of obtaining a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Working with a cross functional team of people
Excellent time management skills - ability to work unsupervised, multitask and delegate work.
Highly motivated and poss effective oral/written communication and interpersonal/team skills
Coordinate several projects and complex engineering activities while balancing priorities and schedules
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor___s degree OR
In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
