What you will do

This position is responsible for the reducing the cost of poor quality by completing projects and training shop personnel in the use of quick response problem solving. This position takes ownership for the effective and timely application quality tools and principles through the exercise of project management skills and Kaizen activities.

How you will do it

  • Use of A3 methodology to define and drive the reduction of COPQ
  • Strong background in involving shop floor personnel in improving quality
  • Leads Quality projects and facilitate cross-functional teams to apply lean principles and tools
  • Involves shop floor personnel in QRPS events and trains them in the use of problem solving tools.
  • Prepares detailed plans, drives project performance and assures timely completion of product/process improvement, using standard tracking and reporting systems.
  • Establishes impact on operational cost and departmental expense budgets.
  • Assists in the gathering and reporting of JCMS assessment data.
  • Lead Kaizen activity to improve plant quality.
  • Complete warranty and scrap reduction projects.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
  • Work with High Performance Teams on the shop floor to improve quality through problem solving exercises


What we look for

Required

  • Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in Continuous Improvement or Quality
  • Strong demonstrated Kaizen Leadership experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective and professional communication and organization skills.
  • Basic statistical knowledge and ability to apply statistics to process improvement projects.
  • Solid understanding of the application of A3 Methodology.
  • Ability to exercise influence without authority.
