The Advanced Forensics and Cyber Team offers highly-challenging and rewarding positions with significant impact on national security and the opportunity for rapid upward mobility in the areas of computer forensics/mobile device forensics; data recovery; reverse engineering; hardware engineering; digital forensic analysis; and digital and analog electronics.  Currently, ManTech is seeking a Microelectronics Exploitation Engineers to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to (you should have experience in several areas below):

  • PCB testing, repairs requiring expert soldering skill, and data extraction.
  • Digital media imaging, damaged media recovery and digital forensic analysis.
  • Familiarity with legacy data storage techniques and mediums.
  • Determining functions and capabilities of digital and analog electronics.
  • Interpretation of data streams using standard and  nonstandard communication protocols (wired and wireless).
  • Embedded firmware extraction and analysis.
  • Use of scientific equipment to conduct research and analysis (SEM, spectroscopy tools, wire bonding, ablation techniques).
  • Use of additive and subtractive manufacturing tools for rapid prototyping.
  • RF system and antenna experience.
  • Linux and Windows operational experience.
  • Knowledge of high-speed printed circuit board design, board population, bring-up, test and debug.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, US Military basic electronics school, or related degree/applicable experience, and 2 or more years' related experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to include communicating technical details clearly to non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to objectively analyze options and determine the best path forward, whether working alone, or leading a team.
  • Experience with digital data extraction, damaged media recovery, printed circuit board assembly and repair, electrical engineering, computer forensics, Altium and CAD/CAM, digital communication protocol analysis is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications: At least 6 months of recent hands-on experience is helpful in one or more of the following: data storage technology design and repair, PCB design and repair, logic analyzers and protocol analysis, and computer programming.

Security Clearance Requirements: Current TS/SCI with Full-scope Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform lengthy sedentary tasks requiring fine motor skills.
  • Occasionally required to participate in the installation/configuration/removal of industrial machinery.
