Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring an experienced Senior Project Manager with a broad background in Rail/Transit Infrastructure development, and a desire to implement creative innovative, practical solutions for various projects in the Toronto region.  In this role, you will be responsible for client management, bid development, scope development, scope management and commercial performance of the project to meet project goals and objectives.  Plans and defines program goals and devises methods to accomplish them; develops in depth knowledge of client objectives, contract terms and corporate policies.

  • Successfully win and manage complex and projects within the operational and strategic framework
  • Develop strategic initiatives client management plans and business plans for the area that align with the overall goals of the district and division
  • Manage interdisciplinary teams of professionals.
  • Integrate competing and/or conflicting elements into the planning and execution processes so that project requirements flow smoothly.
  • Mobilize company resources, , to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work. 
  • Acts as the Company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during the program execution. 
  • Assess contract risk and negotiate changes to the scope of work with the client and key subcontractors including marketing and securing additional work with client. 
  • Oversees establishment of Project Execution Plan, Health and Safety Plan, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plan, and other documents as required.
  • Develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project with managers and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans. 
  • Devise and execute actions plan to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work and advise all parties of any changes
  • Maintain current and timely change orders.
  • Promotes technical and commercial excellence on the project through application of Quality Assurance processes. 
  • Monitor and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. 

Required Skills/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering related technical/business field
  • 15+ years of related engineering management experience on large scale programs
  • Possess a broad general technical and business background in rail industry including knowledge of industry standards. 
  • Must have the ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being hands on technically in the project. 

Preferred Skills/Experience: 

  • Professional registration may also be required.
  • Experience with Rail/Transit systems in Canada is preferred; Toronto experience strongly preferred
