Manager Retention Field - NY region (includes NYC, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island, and Nassau) The selected candidate will work from one of these offices.

Responsible for coordinating and directing the efforts of the retention initiatives in the NY Health Plan. Develops objectives, policies and programs for retention activity related to membership growth, retention, acquisitions and business initiatives. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Oversees the quality control process and procedures to verify accuracy of the applications and enrollments into the program.
  • Develops, changes, and/or adapts retention techniques to fit the NY marketplace.
  • Ensures compliance with state and municipal laws, rules, and guidelines. Tracks, measures and monitors enrollment and re-certification trends and issues including discussions with State and County contacts. 
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates the performance of direct reports. 

Highly qualified candidates will have:

  • People Management expertise: this role will have oversight of a team of regionally-positioned retention representatives
  • Provider Relations/Community Engagement expertise
  • Reporting and Data Analysis; Quality Improvement metrics
  • Growth and retention strategy and execution
  • Experience interfacing with Sales and Member Services departments

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS (MS preferred) in Marketing, Business Administration or related field; 7 years of experience in sales, a proven track record of designing, developing, and managing sales, marketing, and community relations functions; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. 
  • Healthcare experience is required.
  • Experience with Medicaid, Medicaid Essential Plans and Child Health Plus is required.
  • Leadership experience with direct reports is a must.
  • Must be able to travel regularly between the offices in NY.
