Overview

Directs and coordinates maintenance, services, transportation and repair of equipment, which can include any or all of the following: AGE, TRAP, BEAR, communications-electronic, industrial, optical, armament, instruments, etc. Responsible for equipment overhaul programs, corrective maintenance, repair, calibration, preventive maintenance, change modifications (ECP, TCTO, etc.).


Responsibilities

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  1. Directs plans and process flows for maintenance workloads using Lean techniques to optimize the use of personnel and facilities.
  2. Establishes programs and assesses progress using metrics (dashboards and speedometers) through direct participation in all maintenance-related process action/process improvement teams.
  3. Develops work scheduling and procedures to ensure efficient use of resources, while working in direct, face-to-face communications with the Government representatives.
  4. Develops overall preventive maintenance schedule.
  5. Has a strong background in using Maximo.
  6. Analyzes reports, Audit Surveillance Guides, maintenance schedules, and performance trends/requirements.
  7. Coordinates directly or indirectly through a Materiel Readiness Officer, with all supported unit commanders as necessary for guaranteed customer satisfaction and immediate problem resolution.
  8. Evaluates maintenance reports for performance trends, indicators, and potential problems.
  9. Plans, reviews, and assists in the training programs for subordinates.
  10. Responsible for Maintenance Information, using military or commercial applications/software to track work in maintenance.
  11. Advises superiors on the status of maintenance workload and the effectiveness of support activities.
  12. Responsible for all briefings on maintenance or related activities to Government command and Vectrus Senior Management personnel.

MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

PC and associated software, phone, vehicle, etc.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally conducted in an office environment; however, duties may involve the conduct of work outdoors, with potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Work will require lifting up to 50 lbs., stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes head, foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices. Must comply with OSHA, EPA, Fire Regulations, and published company work rules.


Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Military experience and training in a maintenance-related field desired.
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean training or certifications desirable.

 

 

Experience:

 

Minimum of six to eight years of experience in operations, maintenance, or production management, having served in positions of increasing responsibility encompassing program planning and supervisory experience.

Experience working in a Support Operations section is preferred.

Travel may be required

Skills:

Excellent computer skills, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required. Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
