Critical member of the Category Management team providing international Sourcing and Category Management support for Air Liquide Business Units across the US, Canada, Mexico, and potentially other geographies.  The primary focus of this role will be to support the Hardgoods (safety, welding equipment, and related materials) Retail businesses, including the further development of private label programs through the development of supply chains in Best Cost Countries (i.e. Asia-Pacific region).

Job Description

The Principal Category Specialist will engage with Product Managers to support the ambitions of the program through Category Management best practices including, but not limited to, strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and management, commercial negotiations, supplier relationship management, and demand planning. 

Develops and executes Procurement strategies in full alignment with key stakeholders for Hardgoods categories and/or suppliers under areas of responsibility.

Sourcing for “New Normal” PPE products for resell by establishing network of domestic (wholesalers, distributors) and international (manufacturers, agents) sources, including: 

  • Qualifying manufacturers per Air Liquide/Airgas and country-specific guidelines
  • Facilitating product and packaging review/approval by Product Manager
  • Managing competitive bidding process
  • Negotiation of commercial terms

Sourcing support for private label Hardgoods in conjunction with our Radnor Brand Product Director, and Product Manager strategies. 

  • Sourcing support to enable the domestic and global expansion of our Radnor Brand of products.
  • Sourcing support of existing Radnor Branded Product agreements.
  • Manage RFI; RFQ & RFP processes for existing and new Radnor Brand products.
  • Work with our Radnor Product Director, Product Managers and Radnor Analyst to enable the execution of cost savings opportunities with our Radnor Brand portfolio of products. 

“Tier 3” supplier relationship management, including negotiating and securing annual rebates

Supplier management support as requested, particularly in seeking opportunities to leverage Airgas/Air Liquide scale across the supplier base



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or other business related fields.
  • 7 years of relevant work experience.
