**Description:** The Computer Systems Architect position in Huntsville, Alabama is a key member on our Systems Team\. As the program environment owner on the Modeling and Simulation Contract \(MASC\-F\) you will be working in an agile engineering environment and will support the design and architecture aspects of the program environment\. Leading the lab environment and leading a team consisting of the Lab Manager and system administrators\.

Key goals are to:

implement automation/development/integration and testing environments of multiple development teams and all program user needs\.

Areas of Responsibility include but are not limited to the following:


\- Design, develop, manage, and deploy and maintain physical and virtual lab environments across all security domains in support of the MASC\-F Software Development Environments as well as system\-of\-systems level simulation activities

\- Support environments to integrate various software elements that run on multiple operating systems \(Windows and RHEL\)

\- Work closely with development teams and analysts to ensure the development environment remains stable and available\. Analyze and resolve virtualization issues\.

\- Maintain a prioritized list of simulation and computing needs/enablers and advocate for program resolution in a timely fashion so that organizational analysis and development objectives are not compromised

\- Enable standardization within the software/simulation development environments, execution of automated build and test processes, deployment of new tools and simulations such as static analysis tools and the development of processes and controls that drive effectiveness and efficiency

\- Administer numerous application and servers across different classification levels\. Tasks include asset planning, data transfers, user administration, branch creation and maintenance, and development and enforcement of standard practices\.

\- Assess computing needs to determine performance requirement, common/base configurations, updating program plans, and coordinating, implementing and maintaining standardized simulation analysis configurations

\- Work with program leadership and developers to institute standard methodologies and tools supporting an agile simulation development environment

\- Work with Control Account Managers to assess and finalize lab hardware needs for purchase to maintain and grow the lab to meet the development and simulation requirements

**Basic Qualifications:**

\*\*\*Must have active DoD SECRET clearance to be considered for this position\*\*\*

\- Ability to maintain a secret security clearance

\- 10\+ years’ experience configuring and/or designing Red Hat Enterprise Linux \(RHEL\) 6/7/8, Windows Servers and Workstations\. and VMWare or other virtualization platform environments

\- 5\+ years’ experience configuring and/or designing network equipment and appliances to include Cisco IOIs

\- 10\+ years proven experience designing sophisticated development and deliverable systems

**Desired Skills:**

\- Knowledge of traditional network architecture such as IP addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, and firewalls

\- Solid grasp of DevOps principles and experience working with teams to implement automation and continuous integration

\- Highly innovative and analytical approach to problem solving

\- Strong break/fix capability; troubleshooting, deployment, configuration, and maintenance skillset

\- Professional level certification in a major cloud provider \(AWS, Azure, GCP\)

\- Operated a DevOps strategy in an agile/scrum environment

\- Previous network administration experience \(e\.g\. domain controller and simple network configurations\)

\- Familiarity with modern containerization and orchestration platforms \(Docker, Kubernetes\)

\- Previous experience with configuring and supporting continuous integration and continuous deployment environments \(Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins\)

\- Ability to establish requirements and automation for routine maintenance

\- Performs research on standard methodologies for emerging tools and cloud technologies

\- Prefer Security\+, CISSP, or other IAT Level II/III security certification

Familiarity with: ESXi or similar hypervisor; MySQL, MariaDB, or similar SQL database; Apache; Linux shell scripting; GCC, make, Valgrind, DoxyGen

\- Experience designing cloud environments

\- Ability to meet program schedules, cost and customer expectations

\- Ability to solve multifaceted problems

\- Good interpersonal skills and able to work in a diverse environment
