Job Type/Schedule: This is a part-time, 25% FTE position working approximately 9.4 hours/week. Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: The Advisor is responsible for advising mechanical engineering undergraduate students in connection with the UMSL/WU Joint Program.  Will participate in the local recruitment of UMSL/WU Joint Program students and provide related support and administration, including interfacing with joint program faculty on issues related to course schedules and program assessment. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Advise mechanical engineering UMSL/WU undergraduate joint program students. Assist in development and assessment (ABET) of the UMSL/WU joint program curriculum. Assist UM-St. Louis administration with recruiting prospective students to the joint program as well as orientation programs. Assist in administration of program. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline. Preferred Qualifications: Doctorate in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with undergraduate students and nontraditional students.  Ability to speak to large groups of students, parents and educators.  Ability to make critical decisions regarding transfer of undergraduate credits. Department Name/Job Location: This position is in the Department of UMSL/WU Joint Undergraduate Engineering Program.  This position is for the Danforth Campus.  Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $23.07 - $29.42 per hour.
