Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: The Innovation Specialist, together with the customer-focused program team, will be responsible for the delivery of integrated, responsive, and secure technology services that advance the University Advancement mission. Working with Senior Director of Administration and Director of Innovation and Effectiveness, the Innovation Specialist will also provide expertise on non-technology projects and initiatives to support employees in the adoption of new changes.  The Innovation Specialist will partner closely with the Director to deliver a comprehensive change management plan as part of an integral strategy for the systems replacement program. The Innovation Specialist will serve as part of a team that will play a central role in developing and implementing plans to create awareness, understanding, engagement, acceptance, and adoption of new systems, as well as new processes and ways of working.  The Innovation Specialist will use analytical skills to evaluate our operations, including current- and future-state business processes and organizational structure. The Innovation Specialist will follow industry standard change management methodology and will consider all inputs and best practices when developing a change management framework that includes communication and training.  The Innovation Specialist will be responsible for analyzing key success metrics to measure adoption and user experience and will collaborate with the program team to continuously improve the new systems. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Change Management and Innovation: Assist in developing change management strategies and associated end-to-end implementation plans in support of new initiatives, including the University Advancement systems replacement project. Activities may include, but are not limited to, stakeholder identification and outreach, change network development and management, organizational design and readiness assessments, communication development, resistance management, and a training needs assessment. Collaborate with executive management and sponsorship to determine potential risks to adoption or service gaps and champion for the improvement of service offerings and technology utilization.  Implementation and Communication: Contribute to and support efforts related to all change initiatives.  Work with liaisons across the department and university to help assure that planning and execution of deliverables meet objectives and deadlines.  Encourage communication and cooperation among internal departments to ensure alignment and assist with risk management efforts. Partner with the training team to create innovative and well-integrated approaches that tie change strategies together with learning and development approaches, communications, materials, and timeline.  Provide coaching and deliver training to managers, staff, and teams related to change and innovation, as assigned. Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external customers to develop a deep understanding of their needs, the needs of their constituents, and their business practices. Planning and Evaluation: Research and develop a high-level understanding of technology and other services, and apply knowledge and fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures. Examine market trends to assist in developing ways for the department to remain competitive. Research best practices; evaluate and master new tools and templates to support organizational and communication needs.  Demonstrate strong knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, plus a minimum of five years of related professional work experience, including communication and training development and delivery for innovation initiatives.  Team Skills: Ability to support teammates at all times to maintain a productive, energetic, and efficient program team.  Ability to communicate effectively and frequently both verbally and in writing with other members of the team.  Ability to foster collaboration among internal departments and individuals.  Ability to collaborate with other teammates to provide assistance and expertise, as well as to receive expert input and assistance from others delivering the best solution and experience for the university. Strong knowledge of fundamental concepts, best practices, and procedures of organizational development, communications, and business process improvement. Critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting. Experience working at an advanced level with Microsoft Office applications. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, and empathy. Excellent organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within established and changing deadlines. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a wide variety of teams. Self-motivated, flexible, and easily adaptable to changing needs.  No job is too big or too small. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in advancement and/or higher education. Prosci Change Management Certification or other change management certification is a plus. Understanding of and experience with IT, enterprise resource planning systems, and organizational change management projects.  Demonstrated experience working with senior-level management, and providing one-on-one coaching and training delivery. Demonstrated ability to achieve results in large, complex organizations. Demonstrated experience managing projects and process improvements, and analytics. Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $64,854 - $84,365 annually.
