Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: Serves as primary liaison between the Washington University Faculty Practice Plan (FPP)/Washington University Clinical Associates and the Office of Human Resources relating to the administration of the human resources policies, procedures, programs, employee relations, leaves, training and development, benefits, compensation, organizational development, and employment. Coordinates with the Office of Human Resources teams to perform these functions to provide support to the WUCA clinics throughout the St. Louis region. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaboration with the HR Organization Serves as a first point of contact to answer basic policy questions for managers and employees throughout the assigned department, triaging questions as necessary for the Operations, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Benefits and Human Resources teams. Acts as a liaison between the department and the HR Leaves team, ensuring the timely facilitation of employee leaves. Provides reporting data on leaves as required to departmental leadership. Works with Compensation to provide equity and market evaluations. Updates and evaluates job descriptions. Helps perform job evaluations and maintain overall department organizational structure. Support of the assigned Departmental Organization Provides guidance to senior level management on Human Resources matters associated with key business decisions. Supports assigned department employee relations matters by collecting information and evaluating various HR matters; provides input and contributes to identifying solutions to problems presented. May counsel department management and employees on less complex disciplinary matters, policy interpretation and application, training and other measures which address employee performance or conduct. Partners with Department leadership to ensure the managers follow consistent and sustainable HR policies and practices. Develops and delivers an education and training program to managers ensuring consistent application of HR policies, practices and procedures. Responsible for providing guidance on organization issues, developing solutions and implementing action plans in collaboration with Departmental management. Works with managers to maintain employee performance and performance evaluations. Maintains annual review process and implements procedure and policy for new hire and performance improvement plans. Staffing and Sourcing Works closely with the HR Talent Acquisition team to provides support for the talent acquisition process that integrates department practices. Works closely with leadership and hiring managers to implement and manage the talent acquisition process. Ensures pre-employment screening tests and assessments are administered according to departmental expectations. May perform employment reference checks and verifies required license/certifications on applicants. Ensures drug screens and background checks are completed prior to start date if applicable. Leads and executes staffing strategies for exempt and non-exempt hiring. Defines and oversees the on-boarding and off boarding of all employees and leased staff. Other duties as required. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, or a related field. Minimum of seven years of prior Human Resources experience. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Labor Relations, or Human Resources Management. 10 years of prior Human Resources experience. SPHR designation. Prior clinical practice based HR experience. Knowledge of HR processes, policies and legal requirements. Knowledge of employment laws and regulations including FLSA knowledge. Talent management and organizational planning experience. Demonstrated effective organizational and communication skills (written and verbal), ethics, and cultural awareness. Thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies. Handles confidential and sensitive information appropriately. Proven customer service skills and ability to be flexible, working with colleagues and peers as part of a cohesive team and interface professionally with all levels of internal customers. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Learns quickly and adapt to new circumstances, rapidly adjusting to changes in priorities and demands on time. Applicant Special Instructions: JOB LOCATION / WORKING CONDITIONS: The work is normally performed in the offices located across the University’s campuses. There will be activities that require trips to many University offices and offsite locations. Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $64,854 - $84,364 annually.
