This position is for the Danforth Campus. Essential Functions: POSITION SUMMARY: The Academic Advising & Student Affairs Advisor for Specialized Masters Programs (SMP) is an integral member of the graduate team. This position serves as an academic advisor for specialized master's degree candidates and works with Olin and University students and student organizations. This position is located in the Graduate Programs Office at the Olin Business School. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Serve as an academic advisor and subject matter expert to approximately 160 -180 full-time SMP degree candidates. Serve as a functional area liaison.? Work with area faculty, become an area expert and consult as needed on course sequencing and major revisions. Work with the assigned Olin student organization leaders and members to help them to develop their leadership skills. Ensure that assigned groups are abiding by all university guidelines. Assist in the delivery of Olin-wide student group leadership trainings and activities. Provide general academic, program, and University support, including leading in program priority areas and initiatives and maintaining external relationships for existing programs. Meet with prospective students and their families and represent the program by presenting to audiences and serving on limited university-wide initiatives. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. Three years of work experience in a higher education setting or related role. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in higher education, business, or in a related field. Experience with advising, mentoring and working with professionals with zero to two years of experience. Demonstrated success in designing leadership opportunities and working with student groups/related organizations. Salary Range: The hiring range for this position is $44,987 - $57,369 annually.
