In accordance with nursing standards, Joint Commission, Medicare, and all other applicable federal, state, and local guidelines and regulations, the Manager has the responsibility to plan and organize all unit activities by setting goals and objectives. The Manager shall assume the responsibility for the nursing care given on the designated patient care unit.


The Medical City North Hills Hospital staff member can expect to care for adult patients, including the adult through geriatric.  The attached criteria based performance evaluation provides a specific set of standards as they relate to age specific competency.


Medical City North Hills is licensed for 164 beds, has over 300 physicians and 30 medical specialties. The ER has about 39,000 visits each year and is a Level III Trauma Center. We are also a Primary Stroke Center, perform Spine Surgery, and have a comprehensive Cardiovascular Services department. We are an accredited Cycle 5 Chest Pain Center with a Cardiac Rehabilitation program as well as have a Total Joint Replacement Program.

Position Qualifications:


1.            Education:

  1. Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred


2.            Experience:

A.           Minimum of 2 years nursing leadership experience.

B.            Nursing experience within the past five years in a related clinical area.


3.            Specific Requirements:

A.           Current license to practice nursing.  Texas State RN license or compact license is accepted; Texas State RN license required 60 days after hire date.                

B.           Demonstrate competent administrative, leadership and nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the development needs of adult and geriatric patients.

C.           Knowledge of Joint Commission and Medicare standards.

D.           Possess ability to prioritize responsibilities and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

E.           Possess the ability to listen, interact, and communicate verbally and in writing.

F.           Possess the ability to make independent decisions, organize and plan effectively, understand social, political, and economic    influences affecting health care programs.

G.           Possess the ability to act as liaison between personnel and management.

H.           Current ACLS and BCLS (AHA) certification from AHA or ARC
