Job Description

The Analytics and Data Engineering Specialist, Data Science will collect and analyze data for continued performance improvement. Reporting to the Associate Director, Engineering and Validation, the Specialist for Data Analytics and Data Engineering is responsible for establishing site efforts for collocating data to better understand process, improve execution, prevent issues, and enhance long term profile for the product.  The candidate will support the our manufacturing site consisting of end-to-end processing of drug substance, drug product medicines, including biotech culture growth, harvest, lyophilization, product inspection, and quality control laboratories.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Developing a centralized database of a variety of inputs across the manufacturing facility including historical and new data

  • Leverage experience and domain knowledge in databases and manufacturing processes to identify and define analytical opportunities

  • Creating data visualization and statistical analysis of the information

  • Delivering value for the organization by working across the team at the site to provide key information that will be used for process improvements, reduce variability and increase stability, to identify and troubleshoot issues, to enhance learning and reduce tacit knowledge, and reduce risk in process changes

  • Technical ownership for data engineering to build database for information

  • Serving as technical SME for data analytics

  • Contributing to the technical operations and validation team 

Education Minimum Requirements 

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Biomathematics, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering, Science, or related field AND at least two (2) years relevant work experience OR

  • Master degree with relevant graduate experience OR

  • Doctorate degree with relevant graduate experience

Required Experience and Skills

  • Data visualization and statistical tools such as Spotfire, JMP, databases, and systems that create data such as automation systems

Preferred Experience and Skills

  • Coding expertise, data science, data analytics

  • Communication and skills to share information with teams across the manufacturing site through verbal, written, and visual means

  • Manufacturing plant

  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical or biotech operations
