Leads successful on-site installation, servicing and repair processes of complex HVAC equipment and BMS systems without direct supervision. You will follow detailed work instructions and amend any outdated or incorrect instructions with help of Engineering teams. You will make improvements to training guides and documentation. You will lead continuous improvement initiatives in the field to quickly fix any administrative difficulties relating to delivery and installation of proper equipment. You will train the customer on proper usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures for complex equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out testing, troubleshooting, commissioning and perform preventive maintenance on all electronic components of HVAC, BMS, and Security Systems
  • Monitor and adjust environmental controls and sequence as per the requirements and conditions.
  • Providing technical directions to electricians & mechanics and onsite training to end-users
  • Perform front end testing and work with the design team
  • Read and understand control schematic, diagrams
  • Mentor Field Service Representatives
  • Provide high-level service to customers
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for BMS System
  • Ensuring compliance with internal Health and safety standards

This position required to travel to customer sites in Western Canada with an occasional overnight stay  


  • Post-Secondary education in a technical field
  • 3+ years of experience in Building Automation install/service
  • Valid driver’s license required


  • Previous industry experience
  • Previous technical/installation experience
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Previous experience with DDC controllers, PID controllers is an asset
  • Good written and oral communication
  • Previous experience working with BACnet, Modbus & Lon Works communication protocols controllers
  • Previous experience with Automated control logic programming language
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings, and specifications.
  • Ability to follow instructions, identify mistakes and troubleshoot problems in a timely manner
  • Technical/professional certificate in a related field
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to the changes in day to day workloads
  • Ability to travel within Canada
  • Ability to work with less supervision
