An opportunity has arisen in our Enterprise Quality Engineering Team for an experienced resource with a strong background in Wholesale Banking, specifically on DDA, Payments, and Treasury functions. 
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with in-depth Core Banking industry knowledge. The person must demonstrate excellent time management skills, as well as be able to work independently, and to work to aggressive deadlines. The successful candidate will also ideally have good understanding of one or more applications that are used by the bank. Also required are the abilities to understand team dynamics and use interpersonal skills to achieve the project goals, and to communicate clearly in both written and spoken English to all project participants globally.

The primary areas of responsibility for the role are as follows:

  • Lead the creation, preparation, documentation, review, and execution of quality assurance activities for the International Banking Platform domains that include Payments, DDA & Liquidity Management.
  • Work with partners to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology, including end to end testing, and to resolve escalated issues during the testing process.
  • Validate application-specific software and perform ambiguity reviews of business requirements and technical functional specification documents.
  • Use advanced knowledge of the applications in identifying, evaluating, and resolving highly complex test problems.
  • Lead testing teams onshore and offshore to provide training, resolve escalated issues, assess testing needs, and recommend changes.
  • Research new products and industry methodologies and facilitate the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Support manual and automation testing efforts, driving for increased automation of testing.
  • Facilitate the move towards Agile working practices.
  • Partner with stakeholders both within and outside of technology on assigned projects.
  • Liaison and first point of escalation for stakeholder issues.
  • Provide direction and guidance to less experienced staff to resolve critical and non-routine scenarios.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • A broad range of Wholesale Banking product knowledge, particularly DDA, Payments, and Treasury Services.
  • Proven experience of working both at a functional level with the business and also of communicating effectively with technical / development team members.
  • The ability to partner with the business and assist with defining the contents of future releases.
  • Experience in writing detailed testing artefacts and developing and executing automation scripts.
  • The ability to communicate clearly to all project participants globally.
  • The ability to analyse specifications of both detailed and summary level data.
  • Experience in supporting full application end-to-end testing.
  • The ability to provide input and support to the QA process, including the ability to assist with creation of and review of test scripts.
  • A detailed knowledge of Oracle Flexcube, Oracle Banking Payments Module, and Oracle Banking Liquidity Management would be an advantage.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • 5 + years of automation or regression testing experience
  • 5+ years of experience integrating or supporting Oracle's Flexcube banking application

Desired Qualifications

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Significant experience of International/SWIFT Payments
  • Experience of Non-Urgent/Batch/Bulk payments
  • Experience of using HP-ALM
