The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, Platform Management, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed.

Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) supports all Corporate Human Resources applications for Total Rewards, Core HR, Team Member Care, Payroll, Time Keeping, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Planning and Development. It also includes shared services such as Application Development and Strategy, QA, Core and Common Process, Data Management, Reporting, Analytics and Production Support.

The HR Data Engineering team is currently seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support data positioning activities for a new, consolidated reporting and analytic environment.  The desired candidate has depth and breadth in a technical analyst role with seasoned experience across multiple competencies including meta data, project coordination, systems analysis, ETL, security, and a history of outstanding execution.

Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:

  • Accountable for supporting Enterprise Human Resources implementation of new governance processes and tools. 
  • Be an advocate for an improved data governance mind set.  
  • Understanding of Data Management Association (DAMA) data governance structures and how to implement them with a focus on data governance: metadata, data quality, data security, master and reference data and data consumption  
  • Knowledge of how to use metadata tools to perform trace and impact analysis of data elements through multiple environments.  
  • Understanding Meta Data tooling and its purpose is also valued in this role.
  • Hands on experience or familiarity with ETL tooling such as Informatica is highly desirable.
  • Provide analysis and support on process design in conformance with DAMA and enterprise Wells Fargo policies. 
  • Provide consultation in a lead analytical capacity to gather and document detailed business requirements, working with the various groups within HR Technology and Enterprise application teams to understand and recommend relevant solutions. 
  • Identify re-engineering opportunities for greater efficiencies is required. 
  • An understanding of service oriented architecture and how web services and message queues function. 
  • Work closely with both onshore and offshore resources, so flexibility is required with schedule. 
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and being organized is essential.
  • Understanding, communicating and executing change management and issue management processes.
  • Leading small projects and managing/leading resources as needed. 
  • Experience working in an agile environment including story authoring and grooming.
  • Understanding of Enterprise Agile technics to manage product delivery across multiple agile teams.    
  • Experience authoring executable user stories from broad topics and ideas.  
  • Experience with the systems development lifecycle. 
  • Produce un-ambiguous requirements documents, test plans, test scripts, functional specifications and providing traceability between them. 
  • Leading Agile discussions will be expected in this role. 
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to junior team members (onshore and offshore).
  • Directing the analysis of highly complex problems and may oversee the work of junior team members in the team and across peer groups.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft and/or Workday data.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Oracle, Hadoop, Ab Initio, Collibra, Informatica, MS office and Visio helpful. 


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of business systems analysis or design experience as demonstrated through work, military, or education
  • 4+ years of experience capturing and documenting complex business and functional requirements
  • 4+ years of experience with data governance and management practices
  • 4+ years of SQL experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data management related areas such as metadata or lineage, data governance or data quality
  • 3+ years of Agile experience



Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of operation work flows/processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of governance and compliance expected from providing solutions in systems and technology domains
  • 1+ years of HR systems experience (e.g. PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP, Workday)

  • Knowledge and understanding of relational databases

  • Hadoop experience
  • ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Programming experience
  • Ab Initio experience
