Position Summary: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a System Administrator for the Division of Institutional Planning and Operations (IP&O). The System Administrator reports to the Assistant Director of Information Technology and is responsible for leveraging endpoint management solutions to provision, deploy, update, secure and troubleshoot end-user devices. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Manages desktop encryption and maintains Windows departmental images, including the deployment of new Windows 10 versions and rolling out new features. Manages Windows servers, providing second-level end-user support. Works on special projects and writing and updating documentation as needed. Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field. A minimum of two (2) years of experience as Administrator of Windows Server environments that include Windows Server 2012 R2, or 2016. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience managing Microsoft’s AD DS, DNS Server, File and Print Services, DFSR , Group Policies, Windows Server Update Services and BitLocker. Strong PowerShell scripting skills. Experience managing endpoint management solutions such as KACE Systems Management, Microsoft System Center, or Microsoft Intune Mobile Device Management. Extensive experience creating, maintaining and deploying Windows 10 images through the use of Microsoft native tools such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit or Dell’s Image Assist. Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. Great communication and interpersonal skills, including oral, written and presentation. Willingness and ability to learn new technologies as needed. Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands; a valid driver's license would be required for this position. Preferred Qualifications: MCSE 2012 and MCSA : Windows Server 2016 certification preferred. Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment: May need to work outside of normal work hours to minimize server maintenance downtime.
