Job Description
The Director, Hospital/Specialty Payer Marketing leads the HSBU Payer Marketing organization dedicated to developing access strategies and promotional tactics. This individual leads a team of Payer Marketers and Promotion Managers. The team is responsible for synthesizing input from brand marketing, Integrated Account Management, CORE and other stakeholder groups to develop strategies and tactics for customer facing teams, including account executives/directors. He/she utilizes a deep understanding of the interconnectivity of national payors, market segments and product segments to identify opportunities for HSBU portfolio across life cycle.
The Director partners with these stakeholder groups to develop appropriate strategies and pull through tactics to align with account and product strategies. He/she works with Marketing, IAM and Sales to develop and execute these programs, with the aim to deliver cost effective healthcare. The Director will also oversee pricing strategies and represent HSBU in market level pricing discussions, will report directly to the SVP of the HSBU and sit on the HSBU Executive Team and will actively participate in all brand and business reviews.
Primary Responsibilities:
Informing managed market strategy planning, related brand strategy planning, customer planning
Collaborating with IAM leadership and account executives across segments on business plans and overseeing implementation of customer programs.
Addressing implications of 340B and other significant policy issues
Work to inform and shape policy with Washington and State Government Affairs
Education Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS required
MBA preferred
Desired Experience and Skills:
Minimum of 7 years marketing, payer and/or account management experience
Demonstrated understanding of the mechanics, influencers and economics of the healthcare ecosystem
Strong leadership and influencing skills
Demonstrated track record of building and leading successful teams
Ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and external relationships
Demonstration of significant initiative to develop strategy and support pull through of execution
Strong communication skills
Assessment of Business Development proposals – developing assumptions on access strategy
Manage IDN strategies for the HSBU portfolio of products
Manage value evidence and influence CORE strategies
Oversee pricing strategies and represent HSBU in market level pricing discussions
