  • The Genetics and Pharmacogenomics (GpGx) department at our research laboratory is currently seeking a Senior Scientist with extensive human genetics expertise to join an energetic team of computational biologists and wet lab scientists. Our mission in the Early Discovery Genetics group within GpGx is to identify and functionally validate novel targets anchored in human genetics that will enter our company's drug discovery pipeline for therapeutic intervention. The successful candidate will be intricately involved in the design, execution and interpretation of human genetic studies to transform discoveries into testable therapeutic hypotheses across Cardiovascular, Immunology, Ophthalmology and Neurosciences diseases areas. The successful candidate will be team-oriented, with the ability to effectively communicate and thrive in an inclusionary, integrated, and multidisciplinary work environment.  Specifically, the Senior Research Scientist will:
  • Integrate data from large human genetic datasets, including Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS), RVAS, Quantitative Trait Loci (eQTL/pQTL) studies, and Mendelian genetics, to identify potential therapeutic targets across Cardiovascular, Immunology, Ophthalmology and Neurosciences diseases areas.
  • Participate in large academic/industry partnerships and leverage data from large biobanks (including FINNGEN, UK Biobank)
  • Ensure that our company is at the forefront of human genetics and is applying the most advanced methods and tools in this constantly evolving field.
  • Closely Collaborate with scientists in GpGx and the therapeutic areas to conceptualize, execute and apply genetics and genomics research for target identification and validation.
  • Communicate results to program teams and therapeutic area leadership.
  • Provide genetics expertise to biologists and senior leadership across disease areas.


  • PhD., MD or MD/PhD, preferably with 3+ years of academic or industry postdoctoral experience in genetics in neuroscience, immune and/or cardiovascular-related diseases.


  • Extensive expertise in Human genetics with a proven publication record.
  • Extensive experience in analyzing large-scale human Genetics dataset applying cutting-edge statistical genetics and bioinformatic methods.
  • Understanding of human biology and experience translating genetics findings to better understand biological mechanisms implicated in disease.
  • Proven track record of active participation in academic consortia or academic/industry partnerships
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills including ability to distill and communicate complex genetic/genomic concepts to scientists from diverse disciplines.
  • <5% travel


  • Demonstrate significant knowledge of pathway and multi-omics approaches to integrated with genetic datasets for identifying causal gene(s) as potential therapeutic targets
  • Experience with integration of diverse high-throughput data types
